| James Whittle, great grandson of the founder 
James Whittle, Dip.FD, MBIFD, Leonard's son, educated at Brighton College, started with the Company in 1968, became a Director in 1971 and Company Secretary and joint Managing Director in 1973. He gained a Diploma from the National Association of Funeral Directors in 1975. He is a founder member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors (formed in 1982). He was a churchwarden at St Peter's Church, Henfield, and a Trustee of St Peter's Church of England Primary School, Henfield, 1996-2003, and again since 2008. He has been Honorary Treasurer at St Peter’s Church, Henfield, since 2001 and Honorary Treasurer of Henfield Youth Club since 1997.
Richard Whittle, great, great grandson of the founder

Richard Whittle, BSc Hons in Operations Management, James's second son, educated at Lancaster University and Hurstpierpoint College, joined the company in April 2011. Richard also has an Advanced Certificate in Sales & Marketing from the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management.
Previously Richard worked at Hospitality and Leisure Manpower in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, as Operations Manager working with consultants and trainers to improve the quality of customer service and service standards in small to medium enterprises throughout the country.
Richard has also spent the last six years working as a volunteer at the Green Theatre Company, a youth charity based in New Malden, Surrey. As well as being head of publicity he was also Chairman for two years. During this time he increased membership and secured additional funding through the preperation of a three years business plan. The Green Theatre is a charity designed to help and support young people aged from 14-25.
