A Book of Remembrance has been placed in our premises to provide an inexpensive and lasting record and dignified memorial. Keeping the memory of a loved one alive is something you might want to do. At Bungard Funeral Directors we offer a number of options:
The Book, comprising of two half yearly volumes, has been made using well proven Medieval techniques throughout, and is richly tooled in gold leaf, thus providing a binding that will last many centuries. One page is allocated to each day of the year and is displayed open at the corresponding day, in a protective glass case, so that the Memorial entries may be seen on each anniversary at any time during normal working hours. This is a simple, meaningful and permanent form of memorial. The name of a loved one may be recorded on any day in the year which has a special significance – day of birth, marriage, death or other anniversary, and you may have an entry in the Book on as many different dates as you wish.
The memorial entries are carefully inscribed by highly skilled calligraphers. At an additional cost of entries of five lines or more may include a Regimental Badge, or may be embellished with a delicate water colour painting of any flower which might be of significance to the family. The whole entry being executed by hand offers the same degree of permanence and artistic excellence as the best examples of medieval illuminated manuscripts.
Personal copies of entries in the Book of Remembrance are available, to fulfil the need for a record or momento to treasure personally, or to send to relatives or friends. You can choose from two attractive designs for these to be presented in.
The miniature Book of Remembrance
The miniature Book of Remembrance, approximate size 8 ins. x 6 ins., has a full binding in simulated vellum, with the cover gold blocked with a cross or woodland scene.

On the inside, underneath the anniversary date, carefully inscribed by hand, is a copy of the original inscription in the Book of Remembrance.
